Group Work

It’s better when we come together.

We humans are highly social animals.

Our nervous systems go into stress response when we feel alone and unsupported.

Yet, as a society, we are lonelier than ever before.

You may feel alone in the challenge you are facing.

You may think you’re the only one feeling this way. But you would be surprised to know that many others are experiencing similar challenges.

The support found in the group setting can be validating and transformational.

Being in a safe, supportive space with others can buffer the effects of increased social and emotional isolation, increase our sense of connection and meaning, and help us get to know ourselves better.

And it can give us the energy and creativity needed to deal with the challenges we are facing.

Groups I offer…

1510165223Mindfulness Skills and Nervous System Regulation Group

This group is a skills-learning group.

It’s open to all who wish to invite mindful living into their life, gain greater confidence in meeting life’s challenges, and open up to more joy.

Learn the practice and theory of mindfulness in a trauma-sensitive space, get effective tools for regulating the nervous system, customize your routine to fit your individual needs, and apply mindfulness to your life.

We meet for eight weeks for 75 minutes each session. Commitment is required for the entire eight weeks.

1289448838Group Therapy for Parents and Caregivers

Parenting is one of the hardest and most important jobs on the planet, yet no school or university teaches us how to parent our children.

Sure, there are books and classes with general information.

Each child is different, and each parent comes with their own unprocessed trauma and attachment patterns that interfere with effective parenting.

So, we wing it the best we can. And for most of us, it happens in isolation.

What happened to “It takes a village to raise a child?”

The village is gone, and we are left with nuclear-family-style living: one or two parents/caregivers having to be almost everything and everyone to their children.

A sense of shame often comes with trying to be the perfect parent.

It often seems like other parents are doing a fine job, and you are the only one failing your children.

In group, you get to be with others going through similar experiences, share our challenges and resources, and be the “village” to each other.

Are you ready?

If you want to connect with others in a safe, supportive space, you’ve come to the right place

Group is offered every other week for eight sessions. Each session is 75 minutes long. Commitment is required for the entire eight sessions.
